I just bought a 1971 RHD and it says on the vin plate Series IIA but the front end does not look like others. Could it be a Series III? I am very new to Land Rovers and looking for a good contact or contacts to help sort out. Thanks, Todd

Check this website to find out what year your truck is:

Enter the serial number found on the plate. Compare that number to the stamped serial number found on the outside of your front right frame rail
near the front most spring hanger.

Yes, The series 3 came out in 1971 in the UK. Remember, the new model year begins in August over there.

I have a 1972 IIA not III. Not all areas received the III in 1972. I have syncro and Salisbury but IIA dash and front end.
