Thread: Brake Lights not Working

    Default Brake Lights not Working

My brake lights are not working. I have already checked the fuse and it is fine not to mention the reverse lights are working and the book says they are on the same fuse. I also tried replacing the brake light switch and that did not help either. I don't think it is the bulbs since all three lights are not working. All other lights are fine. Any suggestions on what to do next??? Thanks

    Greetings,

I guess the first thing to do would be make sure you have power at the switch. (I believe it is a green wire with a orange tracer)

Then check the Green wire with purple tracer for power when you depress the pedal.

Was it a Genuine Land Rover brake light switch you installed?
(I have heard some issues with the generic switches places like Autozone sells)

On a Series II Disco, I believe it is fuse # 25 (15 amp)

    Hope this helps....
    Peace,
    Art
