Default 1997 land rover disco alarm problem

I had to replace the alarm box on my disco ,the green box,I picked up a used one and plugged it in and know all my disco does is spin over and does not fire, the fuel pump will not activate and there is no spark, the doors lock fine and the alarm activates,, Do you have to get this used alarm box programed ,can a person do this himself?? I am asking because nearest rover dealer is 200 miles away,,

Default What ended up being the problem?

I have a 1996 Discovery with the same issue. I took it to the Dealer and had him program the used ECU, then they tried to start it and the starter was bad so I brought it home. I just put in the new starter and it still won't start.

I replaced mine the same way and never had a problem. Check the shut off button and check your sensors.

Could be the veh. has gone into super lock.
Try locking and unlocking the drivers door, with the key, 4 times.
    This may cure your problem.

replaced my 95 disco alarm unit with an aftermarket remote start, etc. been a few years but I specifically remember mid project needing to drive with the unit out and new one not yet in. on the connector going into the unit you can jumper between two pins and bypass the starter disable. two lil black wires if I remember right but I'd check rave to be sure.

if you haven't conquered it by now message me and I'll pull up the details.

I just had this problem on my 96 D I - I have long ago lost battery power for FOB and just used key for entry and arming alarm - I replaced battery and alarm would sound and engine locked - I tried several recs from other sites - then I saw your Lock 4 Times - did that and immediately solved - been quite a few days of frustration - THANK YOU!
