    Default Disco-Tech Industries Distributor

Well, after reading about all the trouble our friend Jeff Aronson has had with his points, I decided to get rid of mine forever. I got a Disco-Tech fully electronic distributor a few weeks ago, and got it installed this past weekend. At this time, I also discovered that the vacuum hole on my Solex was clogged.

The Rover is running noticeably better (although not extremely noticeably). And in all fairness, I can’t say how much of it was due to the aforementioned vacuum issue…

But, I can say that I will not miss the tedium of adjusting the points.

I considered the Petronix, but decided on a completely new distributor, rather than trying to modify the old one.

Did you buy directly from them or from them on ebay?

I too have a Disco-Tech distributor and am very happy with it. I think it did make a difference in how smooth my Rover runs and although it my be just my imagination I think it even has a little more power. I've read that it isn't as good as others out there but at this point I am very satisfied.Time will tell.

I want to try one but I have not seen any listed on eBay in a while now. They were selling them off one at a time and then for a while they had a boatload of them on all at once with no reserve- maybe they sold them all off? Or has someone seen one there recently? When they were selling the large # of them off they were going for as little as $70 each- a good deal for a new dizzy AND electronic ignition.

This is the same Petronix that I just installed also. Best thing I have done so far. Great starting and loads more power. Got mine from Mark and Dana at WiseOwl too.
