Thread: Afreeze leak

    Question Afreeze leak

I have a 99' disco II with a small antifreeze leak. When pressure tested we noticed a small trickle coming down the right side of the transmission bell housing. We have tried to look with a mirror but it is hard to see anything. No luck looking down from the top. Seems like a small leak because I only add fluid every three weeks and only about a quart. The other strange oddity is that about the same time the leak was noticed, a witle noise noticed coming from the left rear of the motor close to the fire wall. The wistle only starts when the engine is warmed up. As you give it throttle it gets louder. The truck does not run hot, and runs very smooth, only has 90,000 miles on it. Anyone with any ideas? Fred

    Hi Fred,

I would say the leak is coming from the intake manifold or the head gasket.

Did you check the heater hoses?

    cheers,
    Kevin

Then I would still say the intake or the head gaskets.

Where are you located? I can repair this for you if you are near CT
