I just completed the 2" spacer lift on my wife's D1.

The 2" lift spacers, keeping the stock suspension. If this is what you did, how did it work on the D1?

Although the instructions were vague it wasn’t all that difficult. I was re-doing the suspension anyway so I was “in there”. I wanted to go with springs but for $100 I thought why not and I met a guy in North Adams, Ma who went this route and said he had no problems with the spacers and still enjoyed the factory ride.
I also met a guy who stated he couldn’t use his sway bars after installing the spacers but a quick check and it looks like mine will work just fine so I’m not sure what he did differently, besides if there were issues like that I’m sure RN would mention it in their add or in their instructions.
All I was hoping to gain was a little height for a slightly larger tire.
I should be finishing up on my spacer install this week.

Well the spacers are in... the hight of the Disco is just right for my wife yet it gives the truck the "right look".
The $100 spent was worth it and so far the ride has not changed at least not noticable......
Shooting for a 265/70/16 tire size which should fill the wheelwell just right.
Just not sure which tires I'm going with...

We live in an area where 50% of the town roads are unpaved and I doubt we'll be doing a lot, if any highway driving.

Any Advice on installing these things? My original bolts look pretty rusty, and I wonder the best way to get these under the spring plate. It will be just me installing without help.

Other than soak all the suspension bolts, nuts etc. where you'll be working with PB Blaster, or, my preference is with Waxoyl Hardwax, a day or so before you want to work on it.
The Waxoyl is messier, so wear gloves, though I have found the nuts and bolts seperate easier using it.
Do one wheel at a time and this should not be a difficult task.

Great thanks, I got the lift yesterday and have been/will keep PB'ing it every morning until I get a chance to get under this weekend, I'll post up a pic when complete.
