Default 95 Range Rover LWB ticking noise - engine

I bought a 95 Range Rover LWB and noticed a ticking noise coming from the engine. The local dealership suggested that the problem is common to this year model stating the oil pump didn't function well. I changed the engine oil with 20W-50 and used oil treatment as they suggested. My Rover only has 68K miles and would hate to think it's due an overhaul.

    Any suggetions?

ticking noise you say, its not normal for them to tick.
a few things it could be:
    #1 weak oil pump
#2 clogged pick up tube in the oil pan
    #3 exhaust gasket leaking
this is the most common problems..good luck

In additon to what singingcamel suggested:

If the engine oil wasn't changed regularly, it could be the lifters.
