    thumb-up Series II Wheel cylinder

Yes, these are carried over from Rover Cars, (P4) and were fitted upto 1961 on the Series II 109" rear.
The best way is to source either a good used rear axle from a 109" IIa, with the later cylinders or parts from it, as the backing plates and wheel cylinders are different.
    Hope this helps.

We do have a used rear axle for sale $ 250.00 plus shipping

    Default brakes

If they can be honed you can probably get new cups for them at a local auto supply or friction materials house. If you HAVE to retain that style wheel cyl try Mike at 802-439-5815. I MAY have some spare, newer style backing plates which you may have for free plus shipping. Call 317-289-3000.

Ah, another part of the jigsaw puzzle that is my 1960 Land Rover. I know a previous owner had updated assemblies here & there as original parts became NLA but I had not realized that the previous owner had also updated my rear brakes. My Land Rover was a curious collection of different era parts when I got her and 29 years later I still discover the occasional part that I thought was original had been updated by a previous owner.

The previous owner evidently lived in New Hampshire (old New Hampshire plates were still behind the seat) and died in 1974. Up till then it seems like parts were replaced as needed by whatever was currently available new from a dealer.

After that owner died my Land Rover was inherited by a nephew in California who put lots of miles on it without any maintenance until both the rear diff and transfercase ran dry. Then it was towed home to become a children's playhouse. Then in March 1978, I towed her home.

Thanks for another part of the puzzle.

Alternatively, you could always contact a P4 spares specialist like this one http://www.jrwadhams.co.uk/home.htm to see if they can supply you the same parts.

I've used these folks before as I've got a P4 90 engine in my 109. They're helpful and prices/shipping seem reasonable, even from the UK.

    Cheers
