I don't remember this one, but the thought of a Perkins diesel trying to move a 109" - wow, that's slow. A summer resident on this island had an 88" with a Perkins; he bought it in Massachusetts and drove it up to Maine. Even with an overdrive and in summer weather, he could barely top 55 mph.

I think you must be talking about the forklift Perkins conversions common in the UK, the Perkins Prima 2.0 turbo engine is very different. Besides being much quicker then the stock 2.25, you almost need a full sync box to be able to take advantage of the possible acceleration. With O/D speeds of 80mph + should be possible....

Oh and at reasonable highway speeds MPG is more like 25mpg vs 15mpg of the 2.25.
