Rotella HD for gear oil?

Has anyone run this for diffs, tranny, gear box, etc? Seems to be GL-4 and 85w. My series 3 is new to me and I want to treat her well but this is the closest thing I can find out here in Las Vegas.

Certain oils/fluids can have a negative effect on any yellow metal (ie: synchros) in the gearbox. GL-4 seems to be the consensus lately.

It would not hurt to just e-mail Shell directly and voice your concern. They would know.

I would also like to hear anyone weigh in on if there is the same concern for the differential or swivel housings as well.
