Please see photo. kind of worrisome when you think about a spark somehow getting into the rusted hole. No idea how long I drove around with it like this but did not occur overnight.

Why, WAXOYL 120-4 is the best.

Whew....
and by whew, it means glad you found the hole, not whew from the gas fumes.
Your worry would not be from a spark entering the hole, but the vapors emitting from it and a spark igniting those vapors (including static electricity). Most folks have no idea how powerful and explosive fuel vapors are until too late.

I'm sure the tank can be repaired by a good radiator shop. Soaking the sender in Mystery Oil may work. I guess I was lucky, mine came right out!! If you have it repaired, have the shop shot pean the inside and seal it before install. Good Luck !!'94 D-90, '59 SII 109 RegularComment
