Paint or Line-X?

So I have a survey for you guys. I just bought a OEM Safari Rack with Ladder for my 95 D90 NAS and it needs some touch up, at the same time I am going to refinish the external roll bar, Should I paint them or spray them with Line-X. Ive never taken the roll bar off, it is difficult? I appreciate your input.

Line-x should hold up longer than paint.

i have had my NAS bar off twice pretty easy just had some one help lift ( not very heavy Just big)

Since these are pretty pricey items these days I would use paint or have them re-powdercoated. Linex is great stuff but I wouldn't use it on the cage or roof rack. The cage comes apart easily.
