    95 3.9l question

Were the 3.9l engines in 95 (4.0l from there on) cross bolted or were only those engines with the 4.0 badge on the intake the ones that were "redesigned"? I know they have the same displacement and are otherwise identical (except for the ignition obviously). My 95 is a 3.9

Thanks. I know it's kind of a dumb question, but just wanted to know. Thanks

4.0 and 4.6 gems and later what became the bosh (96 to 99 gems 99 to 04 bosh on discos, until 02 on rangies 03 on is the new range ) were the only cross bolted mains...cylinder bore is the same, crank stroke is what makes a 3.9 into 4.2 and the 4.0 into the 4.6.. on the same token later on they used lo and hi compression pistons mainly on late 4.6's 02 to 04 i think.
