Rear Windows Intermittent 97 Discovery

Hi Everyone,

I recently bought a 97 Discovery with 100K miles on it. One problem is the rear windows work intermittently. I saw a repair kit on the AB website, has anyone had any experience with this problem.

Bobby Rahal Landrover said I need a window ECU at about $380.00, but i figured if the original one was bad, why pay that much for an identical one.

The repair kit cuts an original wire going to the ECU and installs a jumper. I just hate to spend 15.00 for a piece of wire and two splices.

Anyone have any experience with this problem?

Alot of these ECU units are actually older ones that have been fixed by Rover UK.
They were not ever made well and are not always fixed well. Go with any alternative
and leave the purchase of a "new" ECU as last resort. $16 dollars is nothing -
go with that.
