    97 disco 1 with Massive engine/tach surging

just today as i was driving in town the rover started to surge rpms when i was stopped in park, went up to 1700-1800.

after driving for a few more minutes it began to surge when driving... upon stomping on the gas it picks up revs fine, and otherwise the engine is smooth and running well... it is very spurratic. got home, checked all iac/tps/maf connections, vac lines, etc.
a test drive assured that the problem was still present, and now was dipping to below 250 as well as revving as high as 2600!

tonight on a 2 minute trip out for smokes it died on one of the surges, as it was coasting along shifted to neutral, cranked and it started up, then gave it gas and picked up fine, then pulled in the driveway as the idle went wonky again

recently replaced items (2-4 months ago):

    fuel filter
    vss
    iacv
    tps

*NOTE: the last couple months i have been plagued with a problem that persists of the idle droping to 500 as i slow to stops, and then as it shifts into 1st gear again when i stop, it levels out a little higher, but still only 650 or so.

wat do you think??? crank sensor? tps failed again? dirty aic already?

You need to reset base idle. We do it using T4,so I'm not sure you could do it at home. Try cleaning the throttle body and see if that helps.
