97 disco all the ecu's wow what a deal?

97 disco back window would not go up or down ,I have check the fuse blown changed it no deal I pulled the window ecu found it, but now the fuse got hot so and it and cut my power to starter and the ignition and smoked the factory alarm ecu got a new one from bone yard and found that one from a 95 will not work the locks and things went crazy i fig I have a short some were my question is the ignition on the on the factory ecu and can I bypass it . I am going crazy

The 95 ECU isn't designed for the 97 and may have caused a few issues.
