Need advice on engine swap

Hi,

I would like to purchase an LR II or LR3 and swap from gas to diesel.
This is something that I want to seriously do this year, however I'm not
sure a number of things. I am sure that I would be able to locate a late model LR for a fair price, but what about everything else?

For starters right now I could use your feedback on....

Are these swaps possible?
Has anyone done a swap?
Does anyone know of any specialists in LR field that do swaps?
Has anyone seen or known of someone that has performed a swap?
What might be the best diesel engine choice?

There have been swaps done, I saw one for sale recently. The issue I would worry about is not being able to pass inspection, which isn't an issue in some states, but is in Vermont.
