In The Dark

I have owned my 2003 Discovery for about 5 months now and it is really growing on me. I've detailed the interior witch I love, but the buttons on the heater control unit don't light when you turn on the headlights, only the temp controls witch light blue and red.I would think that these buttons are supposed to light for it is difficult to make adjustments when it's dark outside. Does anybody know if this is the way it came from the factory, or is there something wrong with mine?

inside the heater unit are really tiny bulbs. it seems thou they have blown. it should light up a greenish color
