    Disco II Engine Oil disappears???

    Hi, I have my disco II, 2001, Bosch engine 4.0....the problem.... the engine oil disappears.....I don't know what is going on with it.....the engine doesn't seems that burn it oil, there is no smoke thru the exhaust pipe, and from time to time the engine needs to refill with oil....there is a month, more or less, and the engine needs oil, about 2 or 3 quarts...

    Any one has an idea that what could it be...? thanks for your attention and time... regards...

    Rebuild > front and rear propshaft, alternator
    Replace > oil pump, water pump, time kit, shocks, engine and trans mounts, front wheel hubs, abs front sensor, trans oil temp sensor, evap valve, trans filter, engine sump gasket, clock light bulb...
    Cleaning > Throtle body, pvc valve..

      Head gasket failure? Ever had the oil temp go over halfway on the gauge?

          thanks for the quick reply... and for the oil temp gauge... never see it....a dump question.. Where is it? ....I just only see the water temp gauge, and always is at the middle, correct temp...

          Head Gaskets.... I don't kow, I just bought the disco a few months ago,,and the heads looks clean and shines... I don't know if it was rebuilded or not, or just cleaned...

          One issue that I observe... when the engine starts, usually at mornings., launch water thru the exhaust pipe,,, lives a big spot at the driveway....

              Sorry I meant water temp, not oil. After you run the vehicle for a while, open the hood and squeeze the upper radiator hose. If it's hard as a rock than you may have head gasket issues.

                      Hi, I check the hose after an hour trip... the hose is not hard as rock.. it was hard but not enough so I can flex it with my hand....and the temp gauge was always at the center...

                      What else it could be...Thanks...

                          Check you PVC system. Bet it's blocked. Causing the engine to pressurize and leak vaporized oil
