Disco ll want start

Just bought my first Rover 04 se 51K. Drove it for a week before I bought it no problems and then the M&S lights started flashing which could be corrected by shutting off and turning back on no real pattern on this it's hit or miss. Also I stopped the other day turned it off all the way off key still ignition sat for 30 min when I went to start all lights came on as they should but nothing with key to start position will not start.

Could be a few different things, but certainly hints at a CPS(crank position sensor) failure. Where are you located?

Ended up being the XYZ switch on the side of the trans. Only a $700 part and $300 to install. Sweet! Lol
