    Smacking Headlights

The other night I gave a friend a ride in my 04 disco. As he came out he said, "you have a light out". I instinctively got out of the truck and lightly smacked the headlight unit and the light came back on. My friend, not being a rover guy, just laughed. However, this happens all the time, especially with my D1. Does anyone know why this is and better yet know how to fix it? I popped off both headlight units on the 04 looking for any corrosion, moisture, or anything that could cause a loose connection. It looked factory new! Thanks for any help

Check the headlight connector into the headlight itself. Sometimes the rubber seal interferes with the terminals, and although it may already appear that the light is out, it is just the connection that had to be secured. That is normal, and it happened on my 99 D II.
