Wiring Question - Series III Hazard Switch

Well, here is my first noob question.
While playing around in the 109, I found a hazard light pull switch tucked in behind the accessory dash. Wiring looks right, two green w/ red, two green w/ white, and a black wire and maybe a brown one.

1. will not work with ignition off
2. will not work with ignition on
3. will work with ignition on,directional stalk in either left turn or right turn .

Is that normal?

No.
Pull your dash panel. There are TWO flasher units. The S3 uses a separate one for the hazard wiring. Start by swapping the two flashers, to eliminate them as the problem. The US schematic is NOT shown in our hosts post.
