If the trailer is not much more to rent I would go with that, a lot more ease of mind, I had a hitch break on a tow dolly once and let me tell you that was a few interesting seconds.

[QUOTE I hope it doesn't need a whole new frame. Anything else I can handle, I'm a welding/machine shop instructor for Uncle Sam. Fingers crossed!
A Land Rover is on my "bucket list" of vehicles I've always wanted.
Thanks for the good ideas and info![/QUOTE]
Hope you find the frame in good shape, but aside from the cost, swapping out a frame for a shiny new galvie frame is not difficult.
I hear ya on the " bucket list", but be careful ,it starts with one and then its down hill from there..... Or so I hear

Stonefox. 8 Rovers? Really, they're Rovers not Crack! LOL!
I'm not one to talk, the wife wonders why I "need" 5 motorcycles.
I'm a loner, so all the work is done by me,myself and I(the 3 stooges),don't think I or my back or wallet can take a frame swap. I sold my Toyota FJ40 'cause it needed a frame swap. I have allot more resources now though so maybe. Hmmmmm.
Well I gotta' get it first. Off in the morning I go!

That was a waste of 50 bucks for trailer rental.

So, you did not buy the Rover, then?

Naw, I was smart enough to see a money pit and not fall in it. If it wasn't rotted then it was missing or bent/busted to hell. Every panel was corroded or mashed and beat out with a sledge hammer. The frame was a goner, whole bulkhead toast, doors panels and frames rotted, all wiring bypassed,it was a mess. Looked like it was nor cared for at all.

Well I applaud you for walking. Far too often people don't walk on something that could be a major problem. Then they end up with a 10 year project and all kinds of uselessness.

Keep your eyes open. There are plenty of decent Series trucks out there.

                    You didn't waste $50. You saved $10,000.

Rovers don't pop up that often in this region. People don't need them for the snow or mountains. Flat as a pancake and once every 10 years we get a flurry around here.

I guess we old men are the only ones who do that, Les. I take both out, and suff in a shop rag in each hole.
