    Warn Winch Control

I just picked up a sweet 1990's Warn 8274 with the 5 pin winch controler plug, but it is missing the controler. Does anyone have a spare they would mind selling before I pony up the cash for a new one from Warn?

The original Warn controler was Part number 38626, but they said any of the more modern "D" plug controlers would work on this winch as well.

I had the same problem when I got my 8274. See page 2 for my solution that was cheaper and has worked great for 3+ years. Search Pierce Wrecker and buy a controller with mating plug.

Well, I but the bullet and ordered a new one from Warn for $67.00. I am considering either an in cab switch or a wireless remote for the future, but I figure a stock wired remote will always be needed as a failsafe backup. Should be here March 1st, so I can test the workings of this beast!
