    Pressure wash

Entire gearbox and flywheel housing is out of the car.

I was thinking of rolling the truck out of the garage, and give a good pressure wash to clean out the grime and gunk. Might be a stupid question, but if I pressure wash will I run the risk of getting water into the engine?

    just a thought

I would not hesitate to wash where you are now. But would not linger the stream around that famous seal at the back of the crank. Then it might be wise to drain and check the sump oil (change) when done. Cheers.

I've heard on one of the diesel forums that oven cleaner works wonders. Haven't tried it myself yet.

        oven cleaner?

Oven cleaners are a sodium hydroxide based foam that will work well with grease, oil and LR grunge. So will regular foam based cleaners from NAPA and other auto parts stores.
