any possibility it could be the ujoints in the front axle shafts?

I too had this nagging problem for the longest time. It wasn't till a friend in Denmark suggested a trick. The problem is related to your parabolic springs that have given you a slight lift. Your u-joints are binding with the drive flange on your back drive shaft and possibly the front to. Check your drive flanges to see if there are small indents from where the u-joints are coming in contact with it.
The trick that Soren suggested was to create a wide angle drive shaft using the drive flange from early Range Rovers. You can read up more on the conversion here: http://www.maritimerovers.org/smf/in...p?topic=2677.0
After converting my drive shafts, both front and rear I no longer have any issues with vibrations.

Tuko, thanks for the link. That's some good to know info there. Spicer also makes a flange that is a little different in design that eliminates the contact issue. My shaft is currently at the shop getting a cv joint overhaul and new splines. When I pick it up I'll see if there are any numbers on it.
As an aside, I'm pretty sure my vibration is coming from my rear drive shaft. Feels good by hand but with the tranny brake on and rocking the truck there is certainly some unhealthy movement in the splines. The guy at the shop confirmed you can't tell just by twisting it by hand on the truck(if there is movement with that method it's way too far gone).Jason

New tie rods and rod ends should be in this weekend. I bought a new spring gauge to test the preload on the front swivels and they were spot on at 10lbs each.
Parts came in for my spin balancer too, so hopefully I will get the tires and rims checked out this weekend.
Hopefully three more possible causes to cross off the list by the end of the week!Comment
