parrie, the GB plates are a white oval plate that has the letters GB on it, and IIRC it was an automobile club plate in England, the UK plates are the registration plates, sort of equivalent to our license plates, except they stay with the vehicle when you sell it, and can be sold to other people using the proper paperwork, if it's a plate they like. (Usually a historic, dated plate)

Just add this gives a list of the location against the letters in the registration numbers https://www.car.co.uk/media/guides/n...ate-area-codes. Also the international identifier GB plate is now obsolete and has been replaced with UK plate , My avatar shows the white front reflective registration plate on my D3(LR3)Comment
