    what is the difference between these and the cheaper ones down below?

    LOL... About $100. Sorry, I had to do it. Our hosts should have the best answer, give them a call. Probably one's genuine LR and the other's aftermarket.

      By the RN part numbers, I'd say the top one is genuine and the bottom set is ProLine (I suspect that "PLxnnn" in their part numbering system is a giveaway for their ProLine parts).

        Agree, the top one is a Green Box Part........it has a "Land Rover Genuine Parts" logo in the picture.

        The bottom part is a Proline Alternative.

          OK. Thats what i figured. But what is the real difference in quality on items like this. Some times i really like buying proline, but should i for this?

            10 years ago I would have said go Genuine all the way. Today? Not so sure. Perhaps you should call RN and find out who makes their current stock of bearing shells. If it's a known manufacturer then go with them. If it's not, you would have to decide if you want to put unknown parts in such a critical spot and would you want to do the job again sooner than later. Engine and tranny internals are two areas that I wouldn't skimp on myself.
