    Poor man's roof top tent

My 4 year old twins saw a picture of a nice roof top tent on a 110. They have been bugging me to get one. However. the price is a bit out of my range at the moment. Here is our solution.

That's great! How did you do it? I'll have to play on mine and see if I can make something...

I did a simular thing in the early 80's for my 109. Put on flat surf racks(4) bolted a 3/4" piece of marine ply. It fit the footprint of my 2 man Timberline tent perfectly. I drilled 1/4" side holes thru the edge at the corners and used some alloy rod which I bent to hold the ends of the rain fly bungees. Worked great! Then the family got bigger.............

Key is finding a tent that fits it right. Then working out a way of getting up there easily without having to carry around a full size ladder.
