    It's officially summer!

    Off with the top!

(it's amazing how much quieter the truck is without the tin can hard top)

I discovered the same thing when I switched to the canvas hood - noticeably quieter, as the cloth absorbs and muffles some of the noise. Also (not that it would matter much in Dallas), the cab is warmer in the winter with the ragtop (IMHO), as there is no metal to conduct the cold.

I think the biggest noise abatement was simply removing the top. So many things to rattle and echo with it. I also realized as I was removing all the bolts and screws just how many had worked their way loose over time.

Yeah, warmth isn't really an issue here (though it can get cold here in the winter). Besides, the heater still seems to put out a fair amount of heat even when the levers are pushed up!

Yep. It's my wife's XC70. Got it about a year ago and it it's her favorite car she's ever owned. AWD and turbo, it's a pretty good value for the price.

My DD is an 07 Audi A6. But honestly, I drive the rover just as much. Splitting time keeps the miles off of both!

My daily, (100 miles a day) is a 2007 Volvo v70, wife drives an S60 and my spare is my original Volvo 850 bought new in 1997 with 350 K on the odometer. I love the v70 wagon as my whole drum kit fits in the back, as well as amps and guitars.

Can't go completely topless in south Texas.

Hell, you can't go completely topless in north Texas either!

Finally put the soft top on last night. Was tired of roasting in the sun on my way home from work.

                      Muuuuuuuuch better!

Can't go completely topless in Connecticut if you are a female, frowned upon by the authorities.

A neat trick is to slide a piece of PVC pipe (like 1/2" or 3/4") into the bottom of the sides before rolling them up. It makes them look much better. For the rear, I would just roll it up around a piece of PVC pipe.
