    Long or short oil filter

    Hi y'all
I want to stock up on oil filters for my 73' LWB series III. Its a 5 door with a MOD 2.25L 4 that was used to replace the original straight 6. I need to order some filters and the host site offers both long and short filters.

How can I tell which filter I need?

You can just get under the truck and measure the length of the housing. There is a pretty big difference between the long and short that should make it pretty obvious.

Unfortunately, people fitted long and short on these engines over the years so without looking you would be guessing.

Or install the adapter for spin-on filters, and then you can get them at the nearest auto parts store.

That eventually what I did. The 2.5 engine adapter.
