water pump seal - anyone know where to buy just the seal?

well my water pump failed on my ex-mod 109 series 2a. A new pump cost ~$90 - rebuild kits cost ~$30 so I figured I would save some money and rebuild. I do not have a press but figured I could just slowly tap it on with a hammer. First time I read the directions wrong and bent the seal. so I bought another kit. this time the outer seal pressed into the housing fine but the inner seal got hung up. strike two!! so now I am getting tired of buying whole rebuild kits just to get the seal and now I am bound and determined to get this seal on myself but need two things.

1- a santity check - is what I am attempting to due with out a press impossible? if not any tips? I am thinking next time to heat up teh seal so its inner diameter grows so it will be easier to get on the shaft..
2- anyone know where I can get a hold of just the seal?

    1- Sanity check: you ain't
2 get a a rebuilt pump and admit you are beaten.
2.5. I am sure the seal can be had. If you get the measurements then you can surely cross reference it.

I think Jonesy was pointing out that you have already thrown $60 down the toilet. If that amount of money has you all tied up in knots, then you are in for a world of sorrow as Rovers tend to be very costly to own. Unless of course you do everything cheaply, which will eventually come back to haunt you. But you know that already.
You can continue to pursue the DIY seal thing, but do it because you get pleasure from delving into the minute details of the engineering, not because you want to save a buck. That ship has sailed as they say.

If you have a vice you can use that to press the seal on.
