    What Kind of Coolant?

As the title says, what kind of Coolant/Anti-freeze should I use for an original 79 Series 3 2.25 gas? The manual says Unipart but I haven't found any around me.

Regular green stuff, 50:50 w/water. Or buy it already diluted. Nothing fancy needed at all.

I just completely drained my coolant. Flushed the radiator and engine. Replaced all hoses. New thermostat and seals. Replaced the core (with NOS) of my Smith's heater box as well.

Make sure you used Ethylene Glycol-based antifreeze. It's usually green. You can buy pre-mix 50/50 (anti freeze to water ratio) or purchase concentrated antifreeze and mix in the water (50/50) yourself. If you do mix yourself, use distilled water - available at CVS. Distilled water will help to prevent mineral buildup. A completely empty cooling system on a 2.25 petrol will need 2.75 US gallons.

Thanks, I figured it wasn't fancy but wanted to make sure. Good to know how many gallons I'll need.
