steering relay oil leak, bad seal?

My steering relay is now leaking enough that I feel like I need to replace the bottom seal. Is this something that can be done with the relay in place? I've read removing and rebuilding the relay is a real pain in the arse. I'm hoping I can just replace the bottom seal easily. Any advice is appreciated.Click image for larger version

While I can't speak from experience...

According to THIS post on the Series 2 Club forum... you simply "Take the retaining ring off and then the bottom plate off the relay and put the new seal in."

    Good Luck!

yes, you can replace the seals without taking the whole relay apart. IIRC, I re-sealed the end caps at the same time I did the oil seals.
