What year and series is your truck? I have a 68 series2a Bugeye and switched to a modern Delco Alternator using a Pangolin alternator bracket with very good results. No experience with Proline Alternators, but use Proline parts on some projects, usually OK.

    Cheers,

My experience with proline stuff, mostly good, sometimes better than original. I have but not installed a proline distributor, very nice,
and the fan shroud kit installed, happy, very nice,

Vehicle is a MoD 1975 (RHD) Series III 109' 24V. convert - engine however is out of a Lightweight - engine prefix 951******C - vehicle has 8 bladed fan, oil cooler, and a different studded Water Pump Housing cover; thus I believe from what I have read, is that the Pangolin mount will not marry up to this engine... It sounds as if I will need to fabricate a bracket especially for any newer unit I install - I have looked into Delco 10si 78 amp and wonder if going up to next one up would be advisable (96 amp) - or 78 would be fine... All that being said: I dig the Pangolin bracket and it's location, and would purchase it if it would fit!

Give Ike a call at Pangolin, he will help you out.

I sourced a 24v Truck alternator for my 24v Air Portable, using the Genuine mount bracket and with some rewiring fitted and ran it for 3 years without any issues. If you have a 12v system, the Genuine bracket will work and I would think that Ike's bracket would work if you went with the AC Delco alternator.

What is the engine prefix of the LW. out of curiosity? Meanwhile I will learn to post photos here shortly.

As a tidbit; I do see however the Genuine bracket sells at a premium - good to talk out options.
