Top options for a 109 IIa 3 door

    You can take the top off of a Series I 107 stationwagon with no special work that would need to be done. Though officially 'you can' take the top off of a Series II and III 109 stationwagon you would have the inverted 'T' channels that the rear side doors bolt to sticking up that would have to be connected to the windscreen. Plus you would have to make rear side doors that the tops could be taken off of as the rear doors are one piece. You would also have to get a tailgate for the back.

    So, has it been done? Yes but not without a lot of work.

    With a 109 p-up you only remove and replace parts and bolt things on and off.

        badvibes has reminded me that i left out the "Neked Bikini" option. i wish i had a good pic but you can kind of see it on my avatar. we pick the pd up in mossuri in october and drove it to albuquerque. it's a canvas hood with no canvas. we stopped off at a walmart and got a roll of duct tape and some clear heavy vinyl, the kind strange folks uses to protect a pretty table cloth. it was in the sewing section. a couple of snips and a bunch of tape and we added a solar heater to my truck! the vinyl was strectched from the top of the windscreen over the first hoop and down to the bulkhead behind the seats. it made it all the way to albuquerque and through that winter. jeff and i called it the neked bikini. cost $15

            i started in hardware getting the duct tape and when i asked for some clear plastic stuff they sent me there, honest, i swear
