    Setting timing on a 2.6Litre 6 cyl.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif]I am confused. Manuals call for 2 deg BTDC, I have been running on " past 6" on the crank marks. It idles best when the pointer sits between the "B" and "T" on the markings which are TD line, 2/6 BTCD. I suspect it is more than 6 degrees BTCD. I get the least amount of popping out of the exhaust and smoothest idle at this setting.Comments and thought please. I also just set the points and checked the timing. Still very slight popping at exhaust, once twice every 5 ten secs.

See my comment in the "running hot" thread. Vacuum advance disconnected when timing?
