Capstan winch: how the heck do I take it apart?

Hey everyone. First post in the main forum.
I was recently lucky enough to find an original aeroparts capstan on an old rover and was allowed to purchase it if I took it off.

Looks like this thing was on since the series 2a was new. Got every single nut bolt and bracket from from to back and am in the process of thoroughly cleaning and inspecting each part.

I have the top of the bollard off and the bottom plat of the main unit but have no idea hoe to get the gears out and the bollard off. I removed the snap ring but no luck.

If anyone has disassembled one of these, I'd appreciate some input.

I don't even know what a crapstem wrench is, but I found this link. Might be helpful.

There is a shear pin in the bollard that you need to drive out -as soon as you knock it out the it will slide off and then is pretty easy to dismantle it after that
