Shamrock painted on door of SIII military - meaning?

I'm looking at a Series III for sale that's ex-military. Anybody know the meaning of a shamrock painted on the two front doors? I've seen this before but don't know the meaning. Net search revealed nothing. Thanks.

A previous owner had a paint brush, a can of paint, and an affinity for clover?

A quick email to the lads on the UK MOD forum might shed some light.
