Any know if I can replace the exhaust manifold without taking of the intake manifold on a 72 Series 3?

I do believe on my 2a, they are bolted together.

on the stock '64 2a I have for a 2.25, they both come off togeather. on the '69 2a with a 2.25 I used to have with the Weber 2Bbl and high(er) perf exhaust manifold, you could remove each individually... though it was a pain... I don't remember the brand of the intake manifold I had though....

I replaced the exhaust manifold on my 1970 IIA last month - never done it before, and it was relatively easy.

IMHO you are better off taking the intake off and bench mating it to the exhaust - easier in the long run. Just my $0.02 - others may disagree.

so much easier to pull together and you can change the gasket while in there
