    broken layshaft

Layshaft sheared in my IIa suffix B gearbox. Some of the broken bits are brass. Looks like it my be a shim of some kind. Can't figure out where they came from.

      Hi,

First impression is syncro unit... remove top cover and try and look inside. You are in for removal anyway. Had the same with an old gearbox where the layshaft bearing went and destroyed 3rd gear and syncro hub.

      Please post findings.
