Heat shut off valve Series 2a.

Where is the proper placement of the dial style (not the cable actuated) shut off valve of a petrol series 2a engine? Near the thermostat housing, or back at the fire wall, I have seen both.
    cheers,

    cheers,
If it's anything like the 200tdi, the flow starts at the rear and returns to the front. I'd put the shut off at the rear.

If you mean the shut off valve, it was fitted at the rear on the pancake and round Smith's heaters.

I assume the flow of coolant is the same for both. If you don't want hot coolant to reach your heater core, place the shut off valve closest to the outlet.
