Install Galvy Trim Before or After Painting

Is it more common practice to reinstall the galvanized trim before or after painting?
I have had all my trim pieces re-galvanized and am painting the tub and doors.
I am worried about damaging the paint when reinstalling the hammered rivets.
I also think I am going back to the original Mid-Grey.

    Thanks,

After. Don't worry about the paint. You won't damage it. Plus, the tub looks really cool with the bare rivets - just like when your truck came from the factory. I repainted my tub (and doors) with the trim off and put it on after. The cleanest look, in my view. I'm not an expert riveter by any means and I didn't do any damage to the paint on the tub. If I can do it you can certainly do it.

You will save a ton of time masking if you put it on after you paint. It will look so much sharper too.
