Engine paint for Series Land Rover

Is there a good quality, rattle can paint out there that approximates the original engine color of the Series II trucks?

That's what I used. Got it from NAPA/Genuine Parts Company.

Or on the early Series II (1959-1960) the engines were painted a Battleship Grey.

I have seen some engine red that was original. Anyone know why some were red?

Not to hijack the thread, but what about non-rattle can paint? I'm getting ready to start an engine rebuild and want to prime/paint with something really durable.

The red ones were 5 Main Bearing engines (5MB) - more recent.
