    Engine Year?

Anybody know how to determine what year Series 3 and engine is from based on the serial number? The S/N is 90199313C.
I tried contacting Land Rover but they wouldn't give me any information for privacy reasons (go figure!)

There's a number cast into the engine block. That number will give more info.

Thanks for the reply, but I was trying to get the exact year of the vehicle it was from.

You can pay $40 and get a Heritage Certificate for your car. That'll give you the year it was made and when/where it was shipped to.

I don't think you'll do much better than that. The old Land Rover serial numbers are not like the standard 17 digit VIN of today.
