My series wanders a bit on the road at speed.Nothing serious but would a steering damper straighten her out?Would it make it harder to turn the wheel?I noticed a bracket on my frame for one but no damper.

First make sure your tie rod ends, steering relay and steering box are all tight. Loose steering equals a wondering Land Rover.
Next get a good professional front end alignment. Strangely enough Series Land Rover alignment specs are tighter than those of most modern cars.
That should cure any tendencies to wonder.-
