    Fuel sender repair tip

Removed my fuel sender and noticed the open circuit is not in the rheostate element but bad connection between the float arm / wiper and the body of the sender.

So if you have a flaky sender check the resistance between the body and the float arm. Should be close to zero. If not, perhaps solder a small flexible lead to the wiper arm and run it up a mounting hole and around a screw. Or tap a small screw into the body of the sender.

thanks, I went and bought a new sender, AND a new voltage stabilizer. neither worked yet, it'll have to wait for the weather to break before i work on it anymore.
