    Engine Color

My father is restoring a '56 107" station wagon (#20 of 24 CKD units imported to Australia). We are wondering what color to paint the engine. I understand that later units were painted a light (almost mint) green but what of the early Series I engines? Were they grey/silver?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, i can't be there to physically help him as I'm here in the U.S. and he's back home in Oz, but perhaps I can find this info for him.

Will try to attach a photo or two.

Thanks in advance for any help/knowledge.

um, the only color I've seen on SI blocks is "rust."

I know that isn't very helpful

A Land Rover would never turn up to collect an Oscar. It'd be far too busy doing something important, somewhere, for someone."

Mine's on that side too. Runs in the family I guess.

Got a color code for that 'rust' color? I'm thinking he'll want something a little more factory.

            Keep the suggestions coming.
