THE ROVERDRIVE LOOKS PRETTY ROBUST AND
I LIKE THE IDEA OF USING XFER CASE LUBE.

Roverdrives are a great piece of kit and very reliable. For a while I was doing 1000 miles a week thundering along on the freeway. It held together very nicely, was comparitively quiet and kept the rpm down to around the 3000 to 3200 rpm for Freeway speeds. I have a lot of miles on my unit.

My only gripe is that the operating linkage vibrates and makes noise but there are lots of simple fixes for that that have already been documented.

Unfortunately for you they are new enough that finding anyone who will split with one is very, very rare. They are expensive brand new but are worth it IMHO.

Any part you need for a Fairey can be had from George at RDS.

George bought not only all the NOS, but also the rights to build the fairey new. He has any parts you might need and he in fact manufactuers them form scratch now. Casting and machining cases included. Most new parts you get nowadays will have RDS stamped on them somewhere.

to check out second hand unit.
