Is there a trick to lowering the windshield besides undoing the latches inside the vehicle? Mine seems like it is stuck. Am I missing something easy here?

Silly question is the roof still on or are you topless?
also, I noticed on my 67 IIA the windscreen vents are screwed to the base of the windscreen. Other than that, it's probably siliconed.... might make it a bugger to lower it.
If you have a dome light don't forget the disconnect the wire running up the center of the windshield.
Don't ask me how I know.
I also loosened the pivot bolts the first time I lowered mine.
The rubber seal between the bottom of the windscreen frame, and the bulkhead is old and stiff like tar, if it hasn'r been folded recently. Just give it a good shove in the center.
Afterwards, take a momment to explain why anyone would want it down, in the first place.

When I lowered mine it was to replace the old cracking seal at the base of the windscreen. And just so I could say I've done it.
The hard top needs to be removed or the front raised up a bit. the wing nuts holding the rear corners of the base backed off and the threaded rods pulled back, the base hinges have to be lose enough that they are not clamping the windscreen to the bulkhead flange then what holds the windscreen in place is the stickiness of the bottom seal and habit.
Oh and as someone mentioned if you have a wire going up through the middle for a dome light you need to disconnect it at the base of the windscreen.
My dad bought a shiny new 1956 Austin Healey 100-4. First day out he lowered the windscreen, plunked me down in the passenger seat, and off we went. We were back in about 90 seconds, to see if he could extract the bumble bee's stinger from my eyeball.
well, land rover is an off-road vehicle. also there is such a thing as sunglasses. or goggles.
and FWIW bees can get in through the vents too. even with screens.
Did he get it out? Or is it still in there?

A Land Rover would never turn up to collect an Oscar. It'd be far too busy doing something important, somewhere, for someone."
